Joana Chicau will share insights on how her passion for dance and choreography as shaped her work and research within human-computer interaction.

She designs web-based computational systems to construct new scenarios and imaginaries guided by choreographic concepts, privileging open-source tools and investigation through a feminist lens.

She will dive into how embodied and choreographic approaches can support critical reflection and strategies for reclaiming agency over data-driven web technologies.
She invites the audience to ask themselves and their communities: How can we move away from pre-choreographed environments and compose our own choreographies? How can we choreograph countermoves in response to the computational infrastructure that surrounds us?
