The work is part of ‘SPATIAL AFFAIRS. Extended Reality Experiences’ and will be shown within a one-hour slot together with 3 other mixed reality projects. Registration is required for participation. A slot can be booked free of charge via the ‘Get Ticket’ link above.

"Currents" is an extended reality experience that allows users to interact with live environmental data, such as air pollution and air flows, through motion capture technologies. The experience blends the mesmerizing beauty of bioluminescence with the harsh realities of pollution, serving as a metaphor for the delicate balance of our ecosystems.

Géraldine Honauer

Biography

Géraldine Honauer is a conceptual, multidisciplinary artist whose work explores zones of in-betweenness and the invisibility of systems that reveal their presence through absence by shifting perceptions and values on-site, online, and on-chain. Her research-based practice takes the form of site-specific installations, appropriated systems, and data sculptures as interventions in physical and digital spaces. In 2023, her work received an Honorary Mention in Artificial Intelligence & Life from the Prix Ars Electronica. 

Daniel Boubet, a multidisciplinary artist and designer with a degree in Interface Design, leads metaplazas.com, a Berlin-based studio specializing in custom metaverse experiences. His work spans AR/VR, 3D design, and art installations, blending innovation and experimentation.

Florian Weinrich, a Linz-born software engineer, specializes in real-time visual applications, web projects, and hardware prototypes. Self-employed since 2019, he collaborates on local and international projects with European artists and media agencies.
