OVP investigates the conflict between soy monoculture and amaranth in South America. Using computational modelling, it maps their complex interactions, emphasising amaranth's historical significance to indigenous peoples. The piece critiques agro-industrial dominance over biodiversity, land sovereignty and seed privatization.

Juan Cortés

Biography

Juan Cortés (Bogotá, 1989) is an audiovisual artist. He founded Atractor Estudio and serves as an executive at Colombia's National Centre for Historical Memory. His work, A Tale of Two Seeds, won the Golden Nica at Ars Electronica 2023, exploring art, science, and education. Cortés has exhibited at MoMA, HEK among others.
