Up in the treetops of the Minecraft universe, we are building a climbing park and connect our blocks with slides, ladders, paths and vines. How do we interact with each other in this digital environment? How do we communicate and coordinate with each other? Observant players will discover clues and details about works from the «Tools for Change» and festival exhibitions in this unique «blocky» world.

Minecraft Workshop Registration

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, you are welcome - no prior knowledge is required! Groups of 2-3 people will work together at one workshop station. Curious visitors can take a look inside this world via a visitor portal in front of the workshop room.

The workshop is led by Mario Robles and Natalie Frei.

Mario Robles is a social educator, musician, and media artist based in Basel. For over a decade, he has worked with disadvantaged children and teenagers, focusing on the self-reinforcing negative cycles that can occur in both individual lives and social systems. He has been actively involved with the NGO “Viva von Auga” and spent eight years leading the NightXperience show on Radio X. As a member of the band Alma Negra, he has released more than 20 records. Since 2021, Mario has been working with Hitproducern, and in 2023, he presented media installations at the XArts Festival in Basel and the HEK (House of Electronic Arts) during the Regionale exhibition. His passion lies in the curious and humble exploration of complexity on both human and technological levels, whether in his role as a social educator, cultural creator, or media artist. https://www.instagram.com/thenoiseoftimeofficial/
